Weekend Wrap-up

Well we drove in from Jasper on Friday around noon,
just enough time to relax before we
hit the streets.
Friday we went to the Astros game with the Mangrums and the Brunsons. The Astros lost big time against the Colorado Rockies but it was a great time for the girls to be able to ChitChat about life, since the game was not that exciting.
After the game we headed to the Chocolate Bar, this is an amazing dessert place in Houston, that has ice cream, huge cakes, frozen Hot Chocolate, and cute little chocolate gifts. I myself had chocolate covered strawberries, while Christine had this amazing ice cream-
ROOTBEER FLOAT, it makes me speechless.
If you are ever in Houston or live in Houston please try it!!!
Well Sat. was just a relax day, I laid out at the pool (and turned into a lobster). Andy went and ran some errands, we went to Central Market and then we hung out with
Andy's brother and his wife for the rest of the evening.
It was so relaxing to have nothing to do.
On Sunday, we woke up and met Amanda and Curtis for Church and tried the Sunday School class that they have been attending (since we are both newbies, we thought we would try it together). Andy and I really enjoyed the class and are planning on going again.
After that Andy and I hit the road and headed back to Jasper a little early so we could get some lake time in. it was a beautiful day at the lake and a great way to end the weekend.
This next weekend is just around the corner and Guess who's Birthday it is ANDY'S, he is turning the BIG 28....on Friday!!! WOW!!!!

Update on my SWEET cousin...

Here is the scoop... my cousin is three months pregnant. She went to her first doctors appointment for the baby and they diagnosed her with a blood disorder. The blood disorder that she has be given- in turn kind of poisons the baby.  The baby has an abundance of fluid around it and the doctor said that it more than likely has Spina Bifida. The first doctor didn't give her much hope and just bluntly said it was a matter of time,
but he did send her to a specialist.
The appointment for the specialist is what I was asking each to pray for. And now I am asking for more prayer. The specialist discovered that the baby had fluid from it head to it knees. They did some test and should get them back in a couple of weeks.
They are hoping for a specific disorder, I just don't know what it is.
They gave the baby about a 10% chance to live, if she carries it to birth or not.
My cousin is in Good spirits and is excited about the 10% chance the baby does have.

So please pray for that 10%....
We have a GOD that is BIGGER than we are and we know that His
plans are much bigger than ours
ALWAYS!!!!

PRAYER!

I am asking you (the three people that read my blog, Ha!!)
to please pray for my cousin
today and tomorrow
as she prepares and goes to the doctor for some things she has recently faced.
Please pray that she will have a clear mind,
that the doctors will be full of wisdom (Godly Wisdom),
her and my aunt will be strong in the Lord in whatever faces them and
they will cry out to the Lord for help, as they are going through this.
I am not going to go into details but my cousin's
doctors appointment is at 1:30 on Tuesday.
I believe very much so in the power of prayer and
I know that you my sweet friends do also.
So Thank you in advice for being such sweet sisters!!!

Catch up Round TWO!

We had a great Easter, we spent it in Houston this Year with Andy's Family. Andy's sister and her husband welcomed us with Hamburger's and Easter Eggs,
it was a fun time of Celebration.
Last weekend, some of my girlfriends and I had a garage sale at my friend Jordan's house, it was a total success and we decided that we should become professional garage Salers. The second we walked out the door, we had a swarm of people and it was constantly non-stop. It was a fun day.

Andy and I joined a church here in Houston, Houston's First Baptist. It was the church that Andy grew up in and that were excited to join as a family of our own. We were sad to leave our membership at First Irving, but we are excited to be a part of such a great church and new fellowship!  It has really felt like home and has been great.

Well I think that pretty much sums everything up for now.... we have been really busy and are always excited about the new things God reveals to us. We are going to Houston tomorrow to watch DBU play Rice in baseball, Go Patriots!!! On Friday we are headed to New Orleans to see my moms Family,Yeah!!!

Ok..... Here is the run down, A Little Catch up!!!

Well one weekend- I baked alot.... I made a cake for one of my friends, who was throwing a shower for one of her friends. I also made these little lollipop-cakes, that I saw on Bakerella. They were so yummy...but mine didn't turn out as cute as hers. But
It was my first Time to bake the pops and to use fondant
so it was trying but it was overall a success.
Andy and His brother also built a deck for Jeremy and Erica's backyard. While they were building I got to play with Marin- If you can tell by the pictures, we had alot of FUN!!!

I just wanted to make a little shout out to the First Irving Team in Honduras. Please pray for them as they SHINE in Honduras. Please pray for their families as they are gone, some have babes. Please pray for the people of Honduras, that they would see the light of God in the teams face and that they would yearn for that same light for themselves.

I am here to ANNOUNCE we are MOVING again!!!

We found this house in Houston and just couldn't pass up the deal. It's off of Kirby and It is to die for. I little touch of french country has made my world complete. Here are some pics of the new crib....
Just kidding, I totally wish!!! This weekend we were blessed with opportunity to go to the Azalea trail. We received the ticket from a Friend of Andy's mom and are very Thankful. The trail is hosted by The River Oaks Garden Club and it is a sight to see. The houses and the gardens are amazing and words cannot describe the beauty that they convey. This house was one of my favorites, it is just a perfect "little" cottage.(Not little at all) Here are some more pics from the Azalea Trail.

P.S. I didnt get a tons of pictures because yes my SIMS cards was not in my camera for most of the trail!

I am ADDICTED.....

to Decorating...straight up. I am literally never satisfied, I continue to want to change our house because I have no more room to decorate. My husband says I need an outlet. So I have found these decorating blogs and I cannot stop looking at them which in turn is making my problem worse. I am in the process of trying to talk Andy into letting me get a new couch....so I am hoping this will quench my decorating thirst.
Here is my favorite design blog, Desire to Inspire.....
you should take a peek!!!
*Caroline, I picked this picture for you because I know so, How much you love Blue and White Spode!

1st Annual Crawfish Boil....

Well this past weekend we had our First ANNUAL crawfish Boil. Yeah, that's right we are going to have it every year. And hopefully it will get larger and larger as people's families get bigger and bigger. It was a last minute get together that we had to have....cause the weather was oh so beautiful. It was a Cajun cook-out. We had 70 pounds of crawfish, homemade ettoufee , Boudin, french bread... man was it delicious. We had a little Washers competition going on. It was just a time in a half. Well I am sad to announce that I don't have pictures because guess what, my camera is broken... are expensive Camera's suppose to break, I don't think so!!!!

AT&T Half Marathon

Well kids, my sister Whitney and I officially did our First Half Marathon. We completed our 13.1 miles with a smile upon our face and in the end a silver medal around our neck. It was such a great feeling to finish it and accomplish something we had never done before. I am going to start training for the next one as soon as my body lets me. I give some serious props to my sis for beating me over that Finish line, I always knew you could do it.

2.19.2008

I have been tagged... so I must follow through, kinda!!!

Here are my 7 random things that people might not know.....
1. I love music..... I could go to a concert everyday of the week if I had the chance (and the $$$). I think this love came from growing up in Austin and being surrounded by Live music 24 hours a day. Music is one of my releases and I feel different emotions when I hear different music and I love it!

2. I am in the process of trying to make my house more modern....I love bright art work so I need some modern pieces to tie that art work in. I am obsesive when it comes to decorating so it is always an ongoing process.

3. I also, like Caroline, collect Spode China.... I collect all colors though.... I have quiet a collection but am always excited when I get a new piece. For one Christmas, all my Mom got me was Spode and it was a dream come true.

4. I take pictures of houses... that arent mine.... I hope that one day if I am ever able to to build a house I can look back at the pictures and maybe blend some of them together to make the perfect home.

5. I am scared to death of rain storms....lightining, thunder, wind, rain, the whole works. Weird  I know.... but I can blame this one on my Mother.... growing up she was also afraid of storms.    So bad that if my dad was out of town, we would all go stay at my grandparents house if it was suppose to storm. I think this fear for her comes from her growing up in New Orleans, you know that whole Hurricane, flooding thing probably didnt work in her favor.

6. I love blood... I could sit and watch hours upon hours of surgery on TV.... i just love it for some reason. I have not seen a lot of blood on real life so if I ever do, this fact could possibly change.

7. Snow cones are my favorite food in the whole world.... in the summer, if it was physically possible, I would want to eat snow cones for every meal. P.S. If anyone owns a snow cone stand can you please open it in the winter....It would make my world complete.

Well and now I am suppose to tag 7 friends.... but I dont have 7 friends to tag.... So Ashley I wrote this for you but sorry I dont have anyone to tag.

Sap, Stars and Street Signs

Sap- Is my Jasper/Brookeland lingo... It is really quite beautiful out here.... we live in a area outside of Jasper called Brookeland, we are surrounded by trees and wilderness. Many of you might know that I am not much into the wilderness but it is a nice break from the city. It is a quieter more peaceful life out here, everything is relaxed. It is a great reminder that sometime we just need to slow down and look at the world that God has created for us and Enjoy it!!!
Stars- Are what surround us here in Brookland.... I have never seen so many in my life. Stars are everywhere in the world.... we can see the same stars in Houston as we see in Brookland (just not as many probably), it is also allows us to remember that our friends and family see the same stars also. It allows us to feel connected without being in the same place as someone.
Street Signs- this is Houston, WOW! I have never been to such a crazy place. Don't get me wrong it has been great but it is defiantly crazy. I have decided that if I want to make it there, I am going to have to start driving a little different, so I don't get run over. Houston has been an adventure... I think it will take a little getting used to, but I think I we are going to fit right in. We have been able to make new, re-connect old and strengthen some existing friendships.... which has been really exciting.

Well over all Andy and I have been doing good. We have been crazy busy and will continue to be for the next month or so.
I promise i will post some pictures soon.

Here is the new House.... the Wetherell's are now in Houston.

Here are some pics of the new house.... all my stuff is not really in order because things have been so crazy over the holidays. But here is a little over view of the crib through pics that is. They have not installed the wooden blinds so please excuse the naked windows. I love the fact that we have granite countertops everywhere, it makes cleaning so easy. And it is fun having everything new after living in such an old house (but I also loved the old).We cant wait to be able to really enjoy it.... I will post a few more pics when things get a little more finished!!!!

Here is our living room!

Kitchen and Dining room....I have not found any chairs that I like and Andy broke part of the chandi with his head when he fell off the ladder.

The Master bedroom and bathroom....Which I really love... love the jacuzzi tub and the remote control fireplace... which allows me to stay toasty on these wonderful winter nights.

Entry, stairs and Laundry room. I am showing you a picture of the laundry room to point out the weird fact that we have a stove in it..... but I do have to say it will be nice to use if one of our guests wants a cup of hot tea before bed!!!

These are the guest bedrooms... which there is also a bathroom (no photo taken)....so come and occupy them and visit us in the Big town of Houston!!!!
P.S. Sorry I dont have a picture of the front of the House....I was in a huge hurry and totally forgot....But to give you a little hint.... its stucco!
